XIIth and XIIIth centuries represent very critical and dangerous period of Islamic and the Turkish-Islamic world. Because, the Crusades and the Mongol attacks had stormed like a hurricane and caused the irreparable economic and social damages. At that time Mamluks and Ilkhanids tried to maintain their political lives. The science and cultural activities performed in very difficult conditions as in every part of life and could not catch up with the great developments in the previous maturity periods. So that the medicine and medical sciences get their shares by this stagnation or uncertainty and also satisfied to a large extent with the previous achievements of Islamic world. In spite of all these negative conditions, it is important to remember that the al-Mansûrî Hospital was established by al-Malik al-Mansûr Qalawun and a hospital in a complex called Rab‘î Rashîdî was founded by Ilkhanid vizier Rashîd al-Dîn. In this study, it is aimed to give extensive information about the functioning of the two hospitals in addition to medical science and studies in both periods.
