Abstract

The settlement of the Turkish community in Azerbaijan whose traces could be found in various parts of the world since the ancient times goes back to the date of BC. The history of the Turks in Azerbaijan goes way back due to the coincidence of the Turkish words used in the language which was spoken by the communities living in that areas, the presence of the object in the archaeological material which were belonging to the Turkish tribes and the existence of the toponymes belonging to these tribes. It is known that in the 1st -3rd millennium BC which is the period of our study, tribes with Turkish origin were living in Azerbaijan. During the 1st millennium BC the state of Manna which was thought to be Turkish origin had been dominant in this region. In the period before Christ the Cimmerians had come to Azerbaijan, they were followed by the Scythians and the following times Turkish tribes Hun and Sabir and others settled in the region.
