Kıbrıs Türk siyasi hayatı içinde önemli bir yeri olan Kıbrıs Türk basını, Kıbrıs Türk siyasetinde önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Basın bir ülkenin iç ve dış politikasında önemli bir yer almaktadır. Dolayısıyla Kıbrıs Türk toplumunda gazeteler de bu doğrultuda Kıbrıs’taki kitleler üzerinde etkili olmuştur.
Kıbrıs Türk basın tarihindeki uzun süre yayınlanmış gazetelerden biri olan Bozkurt gazetesi 26 Ekim 1951 tarihinde Lefkoşa'da yayın hayatına başlamış ve 20 Ağustos 1988 tarihine kadar yayınlanmıştır. Cemal Toğan gazetenin sahibidir ve aynı zamanda gazetenin başyazarıdır. Gazetenin adı ise halka sunulan bir anket sonucunda belirlenmiştir.
Gazetenin ilk sayısında "Niçin Çıkıyoruz?" başlığıyla kaleme alınan yazıda Bozkurt gazetesinin çıkarılmasındaki amaç için, hem Kıbrıs'ta hem de Türkiye'de olup biten olaylardan haberdar olmanın önemi ve bu durumun gençlik üzerindeki etkisine dikkat çekilmektedir.
Bu çalışmada Atatürk hakkındaki ve dolayısıyla Türkiye hakkındaki değerlendirmelerin Bozkurt gazetesine nasıl yansıdığının tespit edilmesine çalışılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Kıbrıs Türk basın hayatının en uzun soluklu gazetelerinden biri olan Bozkurt gazetesinde 1951-1974 arası dönemdeki Atatürk hakkındaki yazılar incelenerek Kıbrıs Türk halkının gözünden de Bozkurt gazetesi özelinde Atatürk ve Türkiye değerlendirilmiştir.

The Turkish Cypriot press, which has an important place in Turkish Cypriot political life, has played an important role in Turkish Cypriot politics. The press has an important place in the domestic and foreign policy of a country. Therefore, newspapers in the Turkish Cypriot community have had an impact on the masses in Cyprus in this direction. Bozkurt newspaper, one of the long-running newspapers in the history of the Turkish Cypriot press, started its publication life in Lefkoşa on October 26, 1951, and was published until August 20, 1988. Cemal Toğan is the owner of the newspaper and is also the editor-in-chief of the newspaper. The name of the newspaper was determined as a result of a survey presented to the public.In the first issue of the newspaper "Why are We Dating? in the article written with the title "For the purpose of publishing the newspaper Bozkurt, attention is drawn to the importance of being informed about the events taking place both in Cyprus and Turkey and the impact of this situation on youth. In this study, it is tried to determine how the evaluations about Atatürk and therefore about Turkey are reflected in the Bozkurt newspaper. In this study, the articles about Ataturk in the period between 1951 and 1974 in the newspaper Bozkurt, one of the longest-running newspapers of the Turkish Cypriot press life, were examined and Ataturk and Turkey were evaluated from the point of view of the Turkish Cypriot people in the newspaper Bozkurt.
