Abstract

We can categorize, in three respective terms, such as rising, evolvement and stagnation, all the physical and social sciences and studies, including Medical culture, science and studies, in Mediaeval Islam. It is possible to divide these three terms, the rising one, beginning from 6th century to 9th century, evolvement one, from 10th to 13th, and stagnation one, from the last century to the end of Mediaeval Era. Therefore, we aim to treat the medical culture and studies in the times of Tulunids, Ikhshidid state, Samanids, Kara-Khanids, Ghaznavids, Khwarezmids, Great Seljuk Empire founded by Turks in earlier term of Islamic World. In their times, we can see a progress in Medical culture, science and studies. In this period, there was a increasing both in the number of well-educated staff and hospitals, called mâristan (or bîmâristan). An enormous progress in respect to recognition and treatment methods, drug production, health education and medicine can be witnessed. In brief, we can call this term “golden era” of Turk-Islam World thanks to medical culture and studies
