Abstract

The island of Sicily, which was captured by Muslim-Arabs in the 9th century, enabled the spread of Islamic culture and civilization in Europe. After this conquest movement, which started to positively affect the Western world in fields such as science, art and economics, Muslims made the city of Palermo in Sicily their capital. They built this place and made it the most developed city of the island over time.
