Abstract

This study has been done according to the data of the Sicil-i Ahvâl Registers. We have disclosed that for the biographies of the Ottoman officers the Sicil-i Ahvâl Registers are one of the most important and most preferred source materials. Therefore; considering the results, twenty Ottoman civil servants, born in Arabsun (Gülşehir), will be examined. We will introduce the Ottoman civil servants, born in Arabsun (Gülşehir), by giving detailed information such as the name of their fathers, the occupation of their fathers, family names, which schools they attended, whether they graduated from these schools or not, the languages they knew and to what extent they knew this language, at what age they started working, the style of jobs they did, the salaries they received, which profession and what administrative unit they worked for, whether they received any punishment in the process of civil service, the medals given to them, ranks and badges.
