Abstract

It is undertoodthattheTurks as nomadictribeshavespreadedtovariousparts of theworld since theearlyeages (ancientperiods). Anatolia is one of theseimportantplacestowhichtheTurkishtribesimmigrated. ThemigratorymovementswhichtookplaceduringtheancienttimesandmiddleagesandhavegreatimportancefortheworldhistoryarecharacteristiceventsfortheTurkishsocieties. It has beenunderstoodthattheTrukishnomadictribesgotnewhomelandsbymigrating at different time periodsboth BC and AD. TheKimmeriansandSchtians as nomadictribalsocietieswhomigratedduringthefirstmillenieum BC have a significantplace in thehistoryof tribalsocieties. It is difficulttodistinguishthem since theyhavesimilarities in terms of their life stylesandculturesduetobeingtribalsocieties. Both of thesetribalsocietiesmigratedoneafteranotherfromthenorthernpart of Black Seato Anatolia. Startingfromtheeasttothewestthesetribesdidstrugglewithseveraltribes in Anatolia andtheyleftvarioustracesandevidence on thewrittendocuments of thetribesthey had struggledwith. Thewrittenandarchaeological data thatwasleftbytheUrartians, theAssyrians, particularlytheKindom of Tabal, theKingdomsof Melitene, Que, PhrygiansLydiansamongtheLateHittite Site Statestakeplaceamongtheseevidence. Despitethefactthattheydid not leavetheirownwritendocuments, it wasfoundthattheKimmeriansknown as nomadicsteppetribesestablishedtheirhegemonywith an orginizedstructure in CapadociaRegiontakingplace in the Central Anatolia owingtotheresultsderivenfromthecuneiformdocumentsobtainedfromthewrittenhistory of thetribesthey had relationswith as well as thearchaeologicalremains. Inthisstudy, informationabouttheKimmerians in theCapadociaRegionwill be givenbymakinguse of informationgivenbyitsneighborsandthearchaeologicalremainsgatheredfromtheregion.
