Abstract

In this paper, political history of Germanicia during Roman and Byzantium will be studied with the help of Latin. Greek and Arabic sources. Mozaics dug in the present belong to period of these states. Marash was taken in 58 B.C. by Roman Empire. City’s name “Markasi” Hittite time, become Germanicia in Roman time. The city was an important place of passes between Eastern Roma and Syria. After division of Roma, the city came under Eastern Rome. Germanicia started to be raided by Arabic in 635 (A.D.) and become a conflict center between these two sides.
