Publication Guidelines


1. CAPPADOCIA: JOURNAL OF HISTORY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES is an international refereed journal and it is being published at least twice a year.

2. In Cappadocia History Journal, academic essays about history, interviews, translations, presentation texts etc. will be placed.

3. Sending essays to CAPPADOCIA: JOURNAL OF HISTORY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES is accepted as an application for its publication and there are not any royalty fee payment.

4.All the juristic responsibilities about the contents of the published texts in CAPPADOCIA: JOURNAL OF HISTORY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES is belonged to the writer.

5. CAPPADOCIA: JOURNAL OF HISTORY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES has right to revise, publish or not publish the texts that are sent.

6. In necessary and convenient situations other Turkish dialects and English can be used in texts as well as the language of publication is Turkish of Turkey.  

7.At the beggining of the essay there must be, a summary that contains at least 200 words and 3-5 key words in Turkish and English in order to scan the essays in indexes and Turkish and English headlines.

8. At the below of the essay there must not be writer’s name, title, institution and an e-mail. Because the manager of the system is able to see who is adding texts into system or sending journal the texts, these information will be added by editor after the text has been passed from the process of refereeing. Therefore while the texts are being written into system, it is important to look over and make it sure that there is no information about the writer at the text. This issue is important in order to give the referees which will examine the essays space to move comfortably.

9. Referee process of text which is sent on “essay tracing system” by entering e-mail and password, can be traced from mentioned web page. After this stage writers should wait for reports from referees to make corrections. Because writers can add corrections to system only once. So if a correction, that referee asks for, is made then there will not be any chance to make another correction that another referee asks for.

10. Digital printing, graphic design, introducing to international indexes, buying DOI Numbers and such things taking place in the jornal are made by “Alko Digital Printing and Graphic Design Company” for a fee. The expense of index, DOI, publication and design for the essays which were passed from process of referee and got the decision of publishing must be paid to “Alko Digital Printing and Graphic Design Company”. The ones who made the mentioned payment will receive the bill by e-mail. The essays which got the decision of publishing but do not pay the necessary payment are not going to be published. The essays, which could not succeed to pass from referee process or get the decision of publishing, are not required to pay any price.

11. The texts which are sent to the journal must not be published anywhere else. As long as it is stated, symposium announcements which were published in a form of book can be published at the journal.

12. The texts are bound to be at the format that is shown below. The texts which are not entered to system in this format will not be taken into account.

13. Page Format

13.1. Texts, must be written at Microsoft Word and page formats should be as it is shown below:

Top Edge Space:   2,5 cm

Bottom Edge Space:   2,5 cm

Left Edge Space:   3 cm

Right Edge Space:   2,5 cm

Text Type: Times News Roman

Text Type Style: Normal

Size (normal Text):  11

13.2. The text type must be sent at the texts which are written in special text type.

13.3. There must not be details such as page number, top or bottom information at the texts.

13.4. Inside essays only the first letters of each word in headlines must be capital, there should not be any other formatting.

13.5. Excluding special conditions which essay or issue needs, spelling and punctuations are made based on dictionary of spelling of Turkish Linguistic Society.

14.  Principles of Quotation

“MLA” and “APA” are accepted as quoting methods.

At below there are examples of the methods of “MLA” and “APA” about the ways of quoting

Sample:  Kutalmıshoglu Süleymaşah is shown as the establisher of Turkish Seljuk Empire. [1]

1.  The tag must be given as it is shown below when quotation is given for the first time. Title of the book must be written “italic”.

1.2. In the conditions that there are other sources between same source that is used for second time, the number of page should be given after the author’s surname.

Sample: 1 İnalcık, p. 169.

1.3. For footnotes “Name, Surname”, for bibliography “Surname, Name” sequence is preferred. Besides author’s surname must be written with capital letters at bibliography. When tag information is being given in bibliography, the page number is not given over again.

1.3. Information of page or pages should be given at footnote, if quotation that is inside the text is taken from an essay. Names of the magazines should be written “italic”. In bibliography part there must be information about page range of the essay at the magazine.
