Abstract

The history of crusades is that of an Eastern-Western confrontation linked to the political, social, religious, economic, psychological and a range of some other reasons becoming diverse when studied further. In this article, the general logic and political sub-structure of the Ayyubid-Crusader confrontation is examined while in particular the 3rd greatest sultan of the Ayyubids al-Malik al-Kamil and the emperor of German and the king of Sicilian II. Friedrich the nature of the Jaffa treaty dated 1229 will be examined. With this treaty of the fifth and sixth Crusades after the Ayyubids' pressure on Egypt, the capital, Jerusalem was again seized by Crusaders. How should the repercussions of Jerusalem's reconciliation, that is the encounters of the Crusaders with their holy cities, be assessed, even if this hand-changing has certain conditions? Is it Ayyubids political failure? As the religious victory of the Crusaders? Or as a condition of the conjuncture? So, this Article is aimed to answer these questions.
